Sports Turf Specialist

The Sports Turf Specialist works with the Grounds team to maintain and enhance all exterior areas of the St. George’s School properties, but applies special attention to the turf grass athletic fields (three) between the two campuses. This is a full time, year-round position. The starting wage is dependent on skill set and experience and the school’s goal is to provide a ‘living wage’ to the individual awarded the position, as well as our full benefits package.

This team fills the important role of providing high quality turf mowing to sports fields, parks and boulevards throughout the City, and consists of 5 personnel, including Operator I’s and II’s. This Operator I position will be responsible for line trimming, edging, backpack blowing, mowing, seasonal cleanup/pruning, raking, and other related duties as required. It is a permanent full time, 8-month seasonal position, starting in March through October, annually. The work week consists of Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day, totaling 40 hours per week.
